Reading is Cool

Do you like reading? I love it. Reading is fun. It will improve your spelling. It helps you spell words that you didn’t know how to spell. You will be clever if you read everyday. Reading can teach you lots about the world. You will be able to read chapter books or a book you haven’t seen before. If you can’t read something ask someone for help. What do you do when you come to a new big word? I sound it out. If you don’t know how to sound it out ask the teacher for help. In class we are learning to use other strategies to read difficult words. You will get good at reading if you read everyday. If you’re not good at reading, keep trying until you get it right. That is showing perseverance because you’re not giving up. My favourite books are the BMX books. I got my BMX book from Duffy Books. I like it because it is fun to read. It teaches you how to ride a BMX bike. It tells you what to wear when riding your bike. Whenever I have nothing to do, I read my books over and over again. Sometimes when I am stuck with a hard word, I look at the pictures for clues. Isn’t that a clever strategy but not all books have pictures do they? Reading is really cool. Remember, the more you read, the more you know, the more you know, the more you grow.

Dear Stacy,

I too love reading ! Ever since I was girl (now I am 43!) I love reading. We can learn much by reading and it is really fun. I love reading because I really get involved, I see the things I am reading in my mind and I live them. It is like going on a holiday trip and really doing the things you read. I love fantasy stories like Harry Potter, Spiderwick, Narnia.
Even now as an adult, the things I love since my childhood are still with me and give me the same joy and happiness as when I was a girl, that's wonderful really.
Much love to you and all your wonderful cool friends !
Berit
p.s. sorry for any errors but english is not my mothertongue.
